The Other Medication Dose Types menu item on the Administration menu launches the Other Medication Dose Types screen, which is used to view, add and modify additional medication dose types dispensed on the Select Other Medications to Dispense window. This window appears from the Dose Patient screen for patients set up with additional medication(s) on the Other Medication Information screen. Each 'Other Medication Dose Type' is associated with a mg dose amount and an abbreviation.
Include Inactive
Checking this checkbox will cause the grid to refresh and expand to also display all inactive additional medication dose types.
Other Medication Dose Type Description
The name of the additional medication dose type is entered in this field. Often facilities enter this data in numeric format according to the 'Dose Amount' entered. Other facilities use text to describe the dose type in this field, for example 'Tablet', or 'Pill', or 'Continuous Release'.
Short Abbreviation
An abbreviation for the 'Other Medication Dose Type Description' is entered in this field, which often includes the 'Dose Amount' in mgs.
Dose Amount
This field is used for entering the mg amount of an additional medication dose type.
Active
A checkmark appears in this field for each active additional medication dose type. Additional medication dose types can be deactivated by removing the checkmark in this field.
Description
This column displays the 'Other Medication Dose Type Description' for each additional medication dose type.
Dose Amount
This column displays the amount of mgs contained in each additional medication dose type.
Abbreviation
This column displays the 'Short Abbreviation' for each additional medication dose type.
Active
This column displays a checkmark for each additional medication dose type currently active in the system.
