Chapter Thirteen:  Tools Menu

The Tools menu displayed in the screen shot above is accessed by clicking on the Tools main menu item.  This menu provides various tools for optimizing Methasoft for each user, refreshing screen data, spell-checking entered text, and refreshing locally cached patient photos that have been updated.  The 'Services' and 'Printers and Faxes' menu items provide easy access to Windows functions related to Methasoft.  The 'Hide/Show' 'Navigation', 'Status Bar', and 'Toolbar' menu items allow each user to hide or show the Methasoft Toolbar beneath the main menu, Navigation Panel on the left side of the interface, or Status Bar at the bottom of the interface.  The 'Close All Tabs' item allows users to close multiple screens at once.  The 'Identify (Biometrics)' menu item is used for identifying patients using biometrics, such as fingerprint recognition.  The 'Hotkey Definition' screen is used to define hotkeys for each user, allowing pre-defined text to be inserted in text fields throughout the system by pressing one of 12 function keys.
