Report: Daily Inventory Tracking

This report displays a summary of all inventory transactions for each Drug/Dose Type combination dispensed at your facility over a selected date range. This report is called 'Daily' because it is generally printed at the end of each day then reviewed and filed with daily dispensing and inventory documentation. This report can also be very useful when trying to identify the cause of discrepancies between physical and computer inventory counts, because pharmacy personnel can scan this report looking for values that are unusual for specific types of transactions. Transaction totals are divided between Bulk and Unit inventory on this report, providing a more detailed look at daily inventory transactions.
Bulk
This column displays the net total amount of mgs involved for each Bulk inventory transaction. Negative values indicate a mg decrease from Bulk inventory, positive values indicate a mg increase added to Bulk inventory.
Unit
This column displays the net total amount of mgs involved for each Unit inventory transaction. Negative values indicate a mg decrease from Unit inventory, positive values indicate a mg increase added to Unit inventory.
Number of Bottles
This column displays the total number of 'Full', 'Open', and 'Partial-Closed' Bulk inventory bottles in the system at the time this report is generated.
Bottle Mgs
This column displays the total number of mgs contained 'Full', 'Open', and 'Partial-Closed' Bulk inventory bottles in the system at the time this report is generated.
Drug Type
This field begins each new page of this report and serves as a header under which inventory transactions for the 'Drug Type' are displayed below.
Dose Type
This field begins each new page of this report and serves as a header under which inventory transactions for the 'Dose Type' are displayed below.
Opening Balance
This field displays the starting number of mgs in Bulk and Unit inventory for the 'From Date' criteria entered.
Shipment Received
This field displays the number of mgs added to Bulk Inventory on the Add Bulk Inventory screen. 'N/A' appears in this field under the Unit inventory column.
Waste
This field displays the number of mgs subtracted from Bulk and Unit Inventory using the 'Record Waste' reconcile action on either the Reconcile Bulk Inventory and Reconcile Units screens.
Spills
This field displays the number of mgs subtracted from Bulk and Unit Inventory using the 'Record Spill' reconcile action on either the Reconcile Bulk Inventory and Reconcile Units screens.
Destroyed
This field displays the number of mgs subtracted from Bulk and Unit Inventory using the 'Destruction' reconcile action on either the Reconcile Bulk Inventory and Reconcile Units screens.
Returned to Bulk
This field displays the number of mgs added to Bulk and subtracted from Unit Inventory using the 'Return to Bulk' reconcile action on the Reconcile Units screen.
Returned to Manufacturer
This field displays the number of mgs subtracted from Bulk Inventory using the 'Return to Manufacturer' reconcile action on the Reconcile Bulk Inventory screen. 'N/A' appears in this field under the Unit inventory column.
Return to Patient
This field displays the number of mgs subtracted from Bulk Inventory using the 'Return to Patient' reconcile action on the Reconcile Bulk Inventory screen. 'N/A' appears in this field under the Unit inventory column.
Add/Subtract
This field displays the net total amount of mgs subtracted and/or added to/from Bulk and/or Unit Inventory using the 'Add' and 'Subtract' reconcile actions on either the Reconcile Bulk Inventory and Reconcile Units screens (Note: there is not an 'Add' reconcile action on the Reconcile Units screen).
Pre Pour
This field displays the total number of mgs transferred from Bulk inventory to Unit inventory on the Prepare Daily Pour, Add Units from Bulk, and/or Add to Existing Units screens.
Dispensed
This field displays the total number of mgs dispensed to patients from Bulk and Unit inventory on the Dose Patient screen.
Overage/Shortage Discrepancy
This field displays the net total amount of mgs recorded as bottle differences (discrepancies), which refers to the difference between the 'Current Bottle Volume (Computer)' and 'Actual Bottle Volume (Measured)' values input when switching Bulk bottles on the Switch Bulk Bottles screen.
Closing Balance (Calc)
This field displays the ending number of mgs of Bulk and Unit inventory that should be on hand in the safe based on the 'Opening Balance' values and the values of all other transactions presented on this report.
Closing Balance (Comp)
This field displays the ending number of mgs of Bulk and Unit inventory according to the computer at the end of the selected 'To Date', as recorded by nightly processes late each evening.
Difference
This field displays the mg difference between the 'Closing Balance (Calc)' and 'Closing Balance (Comp)' values for Bulk and Unit inventory.
Current Bulk Bottle Breakdown
This field serves as a header under which a Bulk bottle breakdown is displayed, displaying the number of 'Full', 'Open', and 'Partial-Closed' Bulk bottles and mgs in bulk inventory at the end of the selected 'To Date'.
Full Bottles
This field displays the number of Bulk bottles with a status of 'Received' in the system at the end of the selected 'To Date', as well as the total number of mgs contained in them.
Open Bottles
This field displays the number of Bulk bottles with a status of 'Opened' in the system at the end of the selected 'To Date', as well as the total number of mgs contained in them.
Partial Closed Bottles
This field displays the number of Bulk bottles with a status of 'Partial-Closed' in the system at the end of the selected 'To Date', as well as the total number of mgs contained in them.
From Date
This parameter allows users to limit the report's data to display only totals for inventory transactions entered on or after the date selected here.
To Date
This parameter allows users to limit the report's data to display only totals for inventory transactions entered on or before the date selected here.
Drug Type
This parameter allows users to limit the report's data to display only totals for inventory transactions of the 'Drug Type' selected here.
Dose Type
This parameter allows users to limit the report's data to display only totals for inventory transactions of the 'Dose Type' selected here.
